Your Roots Are Showing - Ireland's premier folk, roots, and traditional music conference, is thrilled to announce that the distinguished artist Rhiannon Giddens will be the keynote speaker for the 2025 edition. The conference is set to take place from January 15th to 19th at The Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney, County Kerry.
Rhiannon Giddens has crafted an extraordinary career by blending historical roots with contemporary folk music, earning her two GRAMMY Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and a MacArthur “Genius” Grant. Known for her dedication to highlighting overlooked contributions in American music history, Giddens has become a pivotal figure in advocating for a comprehensive understanding of the country's musical origins through her art.
