A music lovers treat awaits you Saturday March 18th when Jack O Rourke and Ian Whitty and The Exchange take centre stage in Killarney. The lone figure of Jack O’Rourke seated at a piano is one that Irish gig goers are becoming more accustomed to seeing. Whether performing startlingly honest ballads solo or driving spectorish rock with his versatile band, Jack's plaintive baritone and piano are core. A powerful live performer having just release his debut album ‘Dreamcatcher’ last October Jack has quickly built up a loyal following among music lovers for his impassioned song writing and performances “Dreamcatcher, my debut album is deeply personal but there’s a lot of universality to absorb – love, loss, going on the tare, the little eccentricities of life are all here with a piano and a beat” says Jack. “Jack O’ Rourke’s music has a grace and a glory to it that will stop you in your tracks and make you forget where you were going! .... Beautiful honest song writing delivered with a transporting musicality that will take you there... wherever you are going!” — Fiachna O' Braonáin, RTE Radio 1 “Jack O’Rourke is one of Ireland’s most exciting new emerging talents”— I.M.R.O. “Cork singer with oodles of soul, blues and jazz, all wrapped up with a striking modern pop bow”— Jim Carroll, The Irish Times. One of the most exciting bands on Ireland’s roster at the moment Ian Whitty and The Exchange always deliver. Last year saw the return of one of this country’s finest song smiths Ian Whitty with a new single release ‘Birds Carry Souls ’. Hotpress magazine called the release 'one of the most poignant songs your are likely to hear this year"  It was the first official release by Ian Whitty and The Exchange since their album The Lucky Caller No.9 yielded several fantastic radio singles including ‘Not On Your Side’ and ‘Houndstooth Shirt ’. From his early material on his debut EP ‘Will O’ the Wisp’, through to the much-lauded The Lucky Caller No.9, (which was named in the ‘Top 10 debut Irish Albums of 2008’ by the Hot Press Readers Poll), Whitty has continually displayed a keen sense of lyrical nous and the rare ability to combine his words with music that brings out their innate soulfulness. Arguably one of Ireland’s most intricate songwriters and musicians the band are embarking on a welcomed return to touring and live shows. “A serious talent” — John Creedon - Radio 1 “An excellent album stuffed with potential hits... a hugely talented group” — Hotpress
