The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland is currently launching their national “Peace Proms” music programme in which 7,000 primary school children from over 250 schools participate annually. “Peace Proms” is a musical and cultural celebration and provides a unique platform for young people to showcase their talent while promoting peace, unity and tolerance through music. It is hoped to have up to 1,000 children from Co. Kerry involved in “Peace Proms 2012”

The CBOI has been running “Peace Proms” and similar programmes for the past 16 years in many counties in Ireland including Cork, Dublin, Antrim, Down, Galway, Mayo etc but also in many cities in America including New York, Boston and Chicago and also most recently in Shanghai. However, the CBOI is delighted to be making 2 very important debuts in the coming year – one at the Royal Albert Hall, London, and the other at the INEC, Killarney on the 12th February 2012.
