Based on international research, the Optimus award focuses on every aspect of the business from customer service to operational management to organisational excellence. Having won the “Ireland’s Best Practice Award” in 2003, Patrick O’Donoghue, Managing Director of the Gleneagle Group, is delighted to achieve the next level in the awards scheme. “Last year we made the decision to actively work towards achieving the “Mark of Best Practice Award” and with a huge team effort from all within the Gleneagle Group we were delighted to achieve the result in just 12 months.

”I would like to thank everyone who helped the group achieve this success, especially the various support structures at Fáilte Ireland and of course everyone in the Gleneagle Group.” “The past year required tremendous dedication and hard work in all departments in the group, as we implemented many changes to productivity and efficiency structures in order to achieve the award. We’re now looking ahead to achieving the top award in the future”.The “Mark of Best Practice” award is the second award out of three levels in the Optimus award scheme. The first, Ireland’s Best Award is based on all levels of customer service within the business. The Mark of Best Practice is awarded to those businesses who also give customers a value added experience while still reducing costs and increasing productivity and efficiency.  The final award to be achieved in the scheme is the Award of Excellence.
